Duchesne River Rafting in Utah - Rafting Companies
One of the more remote rivers in Utah, the Duchesne carves its 80 mile path through pristine wilderness and untouched beauty in Northern Utah. Rated a Class I - Class III river, it boasts narrow and steep terrain, as well as significant rock gardens along the route with cross currents that can be hazardous to beginners; scouting this river ahead of time is recommended. Fun and a little dangerous for those with a taste for it, the Duchesne finds its way from high in the Wasatch Mountain range down to merge with the Green River near Ft. Duchesne, running waters clear and very cold from snow run off. Scenery on the way down the water includes the Big Sands State Park and Starvation State Park as you near the town of Duchesne. If you're looking for something a little more challenging than a family float, this is the river to conquer.
Below you'll find listings for outfitters, guides and rentals for the Duchesne River. If you chose to take on the river alone, be advised that there are very few towns along its shores, and most of the river does lay within the Ouray and Unitah Reservations.
